About us

MATERIALS & CRAFTMANSHIP

At Mareen, we celebrate the tradition and craftsmanship of handmaking, integrating sustainability and authenticity into every design. Each piece carries a narrative—crafted by skilled hands, made from responsibly sourced natural materials, and shaped by timeless techniques passed down through generations. Our dedication to slow fashion extends beyond creating garments & products; it’s about fostering meaningful connections between the maker, the material, and you.

TECHNIQUES

HANDWEAVING

Handweaving is a time-honored craft where skilled artisans work with yarns on traditional wooden looms to create intricate, textured fabrics. This method requires great precision, as the threads are interlaced carefully to form unique patterns. The process is slow and deliberate, with each weave embodying the artisan’s craftsmanship. The result is a fabric that feels rich in texture and character, offering a distinctive, handmade quality that sets it apart from mass-produced textiles.

TECHNIQUES

TIE DYE

The tie-and-dye technique is a beautiful, labor-intensive method where artisans carefully tie sections of fabric to resist dye, creating intricate and colorful patterns. This process allows for infinite creativity as each piece is unique, with the colors blending in unexpected ways. The artisans’ hands shape each design with precision, and the dyeing process, often done with natural and azo-free dyes, gives the fabric vibrant, long-lasting hues that celebrate both artistry and craftsmanship.

TECHNIQUES

HAND-TUFTING

Hand-tufting is a meticulous process that requires skill and patience, where artisans use a tufting gun to punch yarn through a fabric backing, creating intricate textures and designs. This technique allows for high customization, with every tuft carefully placed to form patterns that are rich in detail. The result is a tactile and visually stunning piece that reflects both artistry and durability, making it perfect for creating unique and lasting designs.
